Excellence Award


Up to three projects that exemplify outstanding management of water resources will be recognized.  These awards will recognize projects in New Jersey, including those focused on managing groundwater, stormwater, and ecological resources. ‘Management’ includes the assessment, protection, and restoration of aquatic resources, whether at the planning or implementation stage. Projects will exemplify NJ-AWRA’s mission of advancing water resources research, planning, development, management and education.

Peter Homack Award


To recognize persons who have made outstanding contributions toward a multidisciplinary understanding or management of water resources in New Jersey. The Peter Homack Award was first presented in 1987 which honors the late Peter Homack, a former president of the NJ-AWRA and a distinguished New Jersey Engineer.

President's Award

The NJ-AWRA President's Award was established in 2005 to recognize members who have made outstanding contributions to the Section.  The first recipient of the award was Robert Hordon, Professor at Rutgers University and a founding member of the New Jersey Section of AWRA.

Excellence in Water Resources Management Award - in its 40th year,  New Jersey American Water Resources Association (NJ-AWRA) is proud to announce its call for nominations for the "Excellence in Water Resources Management Award". The award will recognize completed or nearly completed projects that are unique, exemplify high standards and demonstrate multiple public and private stakeholder accomplishments -embodying the spirit that is the NJ-AWRA.  These awards will be presented at our Annual Water's New Year's Eve Dinner.

 

Peter Homack Award - Peter Homack is remembered as an outstanding engineer, an inspiring leader and a dedicated supporter of his many educational, environmental and technical interests – foremost among them, water resources.  He was instrumental in founding the New Jersey Section, serving as Secretary, Vice President and President.  His interest in people, his knowledge of water resources, his advocacy of causes he believed in and his commitment to ensuring that institutions and organizations he cared about would thrive and endure, made Peter Homack a most exemplary member of AWRA.  The New Jersey Section recognizes him each year with this award, presented to an individual who has made an outstanding contribution to the field of water resources. The Peter Homack Award is presented at our annual meeting,  held in December.

 

NJ-AWRA President's Award - In 2005, the board established the President’s Award to recognize a member who has made outstanding contributions to the Section.  The first recipient of the award was Robert Hordon, professor at Rutgers University and a founding member of NJ-AWRA.  The President's Award is also presented at our annual meeting,  held in December.
