Presented by Jon Janowicz, P.E.

New Jersey Water Supply Authority, Ewing/West Trenton Office

770 Bear Tavern Road

Ewing Twp, 08628-2400

11:00 am - 12:00 pm

New Jersey (NJ) StreamStats is a map-based Web application that provides streamflow statistics, basin characteristics, and other related information useful for water-resource planning and management. NJ StreamStats was initially developed by the U.S. Geological Survey, in cooperation with the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection Agency (NJDEP) and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and is currently at Version 4. The application allows the user to automatically determine flood magnitude and frequency and low-flow statistics using regional regression equations, and values of various basin characteristics for gaged and ungaged sites. Presentation topics will include:

  • How to navigate the site to generate results
  • Understanding the statistical methods applied within StreamStats
  • Differences between monthly and annual durations and annual frequency stats
  • Applications and limitations for flood flows
  • Resources to learn more!
